There are actually business owners out there with a &lt;font style="font-style: italic;" size="3"&gt;&lt;font style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;very conservative&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/font&gt; thinking that naturally sets investment in an appropriate solution for their own company as one of the lowest priorities when it comes to business expansion.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I personally do not support this practice.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;font size="5"&gt;W&lt;/font&gt;hy?&lt;/font&gt; Well, some &amp;quot;&lt;font style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;traditional&lt;/font&gt;&amp;quot; entrepreneurs that I have met are quite often comfortable with their current software.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt;But, are they really comfortable? Or are they comfortable with the fact that their employees, those actually &lt;font style="font-style: italic;"&gt;USING&lt;/font&gt; the software are comfortable?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Perhaps so.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font style="font-weight: bold;" size="5"&gt;B&lt;/font&gt;&lt;font style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;ut&lt;/font&gt;, how often do you have a majority of your accountants, warehouse managers or even cashiers to be aligned with the CEO&amp;#39;s vision and plans? If &lt;font style="font-weight: bold;" size="4"&gt;y&lt;font size="3"&gt;ou&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/font&gt; do, you have my heartiest congratulations and take it from me, don&amp;#39;t fire them!&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;It is quite needless to say that you operates in a competitive industry. I mean... who doesn&amp;#39;t?&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt;Competitive advantage may require creative strategies. And to deploy creative marketing tactics, you will need tools. For example, can your current software &lt;font style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;bloom your business&lt;/font&gt; by allowing customers to &lt;font style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;buy online via E-Commerce&lt;/font&gt;? No? Embedded open source strategies will become the minimal level of investment that most large software vendors will find necessary to maintain competitive advantages during the next five years.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;By 2012, at least one-third of business application software spending will be as service subscription instead of as product license. With software as service (SaaS), the user organisation pays for software services in proportion to use. This is fundamentally different from the fixed-price perpetual license of the traditional on-premises technology. Endorsed and promoted by all leading business applications vendors (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft) and many Web technology leaders (Google, Amazon), the SaaS model of deployment and distribution of software services will enjoy steady growth in mainstream use during the next five years.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;By 2011, early technology adopters will forgo capital expenditures and instead purchase 40 per cent of their IT infrastructure as a service. Increased high-speed bandwidth makes it practical to locate infrastructure at other sites and still receive the same response times. Enterprises believe that as service oriented architecture (SOA) becomes common &amp;quot;cloud computing&amp;quot; will take off, thus untying applications from specific infrastructure. This trend to accepting commodity infrastructure could end the traditional &amp;quot;lock-in&amp;quot; with a single supplier and lower the costs of switching suppliers. It means that IT buyers should strengthen their purchasing and sourcing departments to evaluate offerings. They will have to develop and use new criteria for evaluation and selection and phase out traditional criteria.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;By 2009, more than one third of IT organizations will have one or more environmental criteria in their top six buying criteria for IT-related goods. Initially, the motivation will come from the wish to contain costs. Enterprise data centres are struggling to keep pace with the increasing power requirements of their infrastructures. And there is substantial potential to improve the environmental footprint, throughout the life cycle, of all IT products and services without any significant trade-offs in price or performance. In future, IT organisations will shift their focus from the power efficiency of products to asking service providers about their measures to improve energy efficiency.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;By 2010, 75 per cent of organisations will use full life cycle energy and CO2 footprint as mandatory PC hardware buying criteria. Most technology providers have little or no knowledge of the full life cycle energy and CO2 footprint of their products. Some technology providers have started the process of life cycle assessments, or at least were asking key suppliers about carbon and energy use in 2007 and will continue in 2008. Most others using such information to differentiate their products will start in 2009 and by 2010 enterprises will be able to start using the information as a basis for purchasing decisions. Most others will stat some level of more detailed life cycle assessment in 2008.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;By 2011, suppliers to large global enterprises will need to prove their green credentials via an audited process to retain preferred supplier status. Those organizations with strong brands are helping to forge the first wave of green sourcing policies and initiatives. These policies go well beyond minimizing direct carbon emissions or requiring suppliers to comply with local environmental regulations. For example, Timberland has launched a &amp;quot;Green Index&amp;quot; environmental rating for its shoes and boots. Home Depot is working on evaluation and audit criteria for assessing supplier submissions for its new EcoOptions product line.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;By 2010, end-user preferences will decide as much as half of all software, hardware and services acquisitions made by IT. The rise of the Internet and the ubiquity of the browser interface have made computing approachable and individuals are now making decisions about technology for personal and business use. Because of this, IT organizations are addressing user concerns through planning for a global class of computing that incorporates user decisions in risk analysis and innovation of business strategy.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Through 2011, the number of 3-D printers in homes and businesses will grow 100-fold over 2006 levels. The technology lets users send a file of a 3-D design to a printer-like device that will carve the design out of a block of resin. A manufacturer can make scale models of new product designs without the expense of model makers. Or consumers can have models of the avatars they use online. Ultimately, manufacturers can consider making some components on demand without having an inventory of replacement parts. The IT consulting and research firm on Thursday published &lt;a href="http://gartner.com/it/page.jsp?id=593207"&gt;10 predictions&lt;/a&gt; for events and developments that will affect IT and businesses in the years ahead. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Gartner predicts that by 2011, &lt;a href="http://www.apple.com/"&gt;Apple&lt;/a&gt; will have doubled its computer market share in the United States and Western Europe. It attributes Apple&amp;#39;s rise both to the company&amp;#39;s success and the failures of its rivals. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &amp;quot;Apple is challenging its competitors with software integration that provides ease of use and flexibility; continuous and more frequent innovation in hardware and software; and an ecosystem that focuses on interoperability across multiple devices (such as iPod and iMac cross-selling),&amp;quot; according to Gartner. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;By 2012, Gartner foresees mobile workers abandoning notebooks, despite their slowly diminishing size, for smaller, more portable mobile devices. It describes these devices as &amp;quot;new classes of Internet-centric pocketable devices at the sub-$400 level.&amp;quot; (Another word for this might be &amp;quot;iPhone.&amp;quot;) &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The year 2012 will also mark a time when 80% of all commercial software will include open source elements. Companies that fail to embrace open source software will be at a significant cost disadvantage, Gartner predicts. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Simultaneously, a third of business software spending will have moved from buying product licenses to service subscriptions. &amp;quot;The SaaS model of deployment and distribution of software services will enjoy steady growth in mainstream use during the next five years,&amp;quot; according to Gartner. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;By 2011, Gartner expects early technology adopters to buy at least 40% of their IT infrastructure as a service rather than as a capital expenditure. As if to confirm this trend, &lt;a href="http://Amazon.com"&gt;Amazon.com&lt;/a&gt; recently &lt;a href="http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=176060&amp;amp;p=irol-newsArticle&amp;amp;ID=1102342&amp;amp;highlight="&gt;reported&lt;/a&gt; that the bandwidth utilized by Amazon Web Services, the company&amp;#39;s pay-by-the-drink IT infrastructure, exceeded the bandwidth utilized by all of Amazon&amp;#39;s global Web sites combined. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Only a year from now, Gartner believes that environmental criteria will be among the top six requirements for IT-related goods. And by 2010, the firm expects that three-quarters of organizations will consider full life-cycle energy and carbon dioxide footprint in making PC buying decisions. If you set up an online retail store, you&amp;#39;ll want to put many pictures of your product for your customers to see,&amp;quot; said Richard Tan, managing director of Interbase Resources Sdn Bhd, the company that runs local online auctioneer &lt;a href="http://lelong.com.my/" target="_blank" onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)"&gt;Lelong.com.my&lt;/a&gt;.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &amp;quot;If you&amp;#39;re using dial-up, these pictures will take too long to load, and that would make it less convenient to shop online,&amp;quot; he said.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Referring to &lt;a href="http://alexa.com/" target="_blank" onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)"&gt;Alexa.com&lt;/a&gt;, Rodney Koh, creative director of XL-Shop Dot Com Sdn Bhd, said that Malaysian websites hosted locally are at least 70% slower than other websites around the world. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   &amp;quot;It&amp;#39;ll be hard for us to compete with other e-commerce sites on a global level if our pages take too long too load,&amp;quot; he said.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0); font-weight: bold;"&gt; At press time, the &lt;font size="4"&gt;fastest site of the bunch&lt;/font&gt; is &lt;a href="http://blooming.com.my/" target="_blank" onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)"&gt;Blooming.com.my&lt;/a&gt; – it takes an average of 1.7 seconds to load, and is &lt;font size="4"&gt;faster than 63% of the websites around the world.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;  &lt;b&gt;Credit card woes&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt; Another big issue is the lack of an easily accessible online payment system. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &amp;quot;It is very difficult for an e-commerce merchant to apply for a credit card transaction service to include in their website,&amp;quot; said Tan.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; He said financial institutions only approve certain sites that are established, which is a serious stumbling block for upstarts. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   Koh agreed that the credit card facility in Malaysia is still immature. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &amp;quot;We had to resort to using services from an overseas credit card company, and this forces us to charge in US dollars,&amp;quot; he said. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   He said his company would occasionally come across a credit card fraud case.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   &amp;quot;But the percentage is still small enough that the business is still worth doing,&amp;quot; he said. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Koh said he also maintains a PayPal account, but any money that goes into it has to be spent online because it does not allow withdrawal in Malaysia. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   Tan believes that financial institutions should look at what other overseas companies do mitigate the problem.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   He said e-commerce merchants should also be careful when dealing with suspicious orders. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &amp;quot;The Government also has a role to play in this. It has the authority to pass laws and legislations – so that criminals involved in fraud are punished – it serves as a deterrent to the rest,&amp;quot; said Cheah. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;  &lt;b&gt;Comfort zone&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;  These factors have been blamed for the majority of Malaysians still uncomfortable about shopping online.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   According to MPH&amp;#39;s Kee, Malaysians generally shy away from buying products online because they think it isn&amp;#39;t safe.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   &amp;quot;Also, you can&amp;#39;t really see or hold the product in your hand, and the payment process is usually complicated,&amp;quot; he said.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   The challenge, said Tan, is in getting the public to get past their fears of fraud and to trust online transactions.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   &amp;quot;We have yet to build a culture where people are comfortable and confident in buying and selling products online,&amp;quot; he said.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   He said credit card fraud should not be used as a reason to shy away from the service. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &amp;quot;If you buy something online and you do not receive your order, you can always call your bank to cancel the transaction,&amp;quot; he said. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   &amp;quot;In fact, it is even easier for credit card fraud to occur offline,&amp;quot; he added.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   Tan believes that Malaysia is still far behind in online retail.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   &amp;quot;Three percent of the total retail sales in the United States comes from e-commerce. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &amp;quot;If e-commerce (excluding online ticketing sales) was 3% of the retail sales in Malaysia, which amounted to RM59.5bil last year, it would be more than RM1bil – and we&amp;#39;re definitely behind that,&amp;quot; he said. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   He said Malaysia needs more players to create a larger community of buyers and sellers.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &amp;quot;The more companies there are involved in e-commerce, the more comfortable the public will be when it comes to shopping online,&amp;quot; said Tan.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;  &lt;b&gt;Unique problems&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;  In addition to these common issues, each company also faces problems that are unique to their own businesses. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="font-weight: bold; said Cheah. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   Kee said MPH Online faces a challenge in getting Malaysians excited enough about buying books.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;   &amp;quot;The book industry here grows quite slowly, due to the lack of a strong reading culture in Malaysia,&amp;quot; The EU is examining whether&lt;br&gt;Microsoft harms alternative browser vendors by including Internet&lt;br&gt;Explorer with its ubiquitous Windows operating system, and whether it&lt;br&gt;harms alternative office-suite vendors by controlling the file format&lt;br&gt;used to store office documents.&lt;p&gt;The cases stem from two complaints, one from Norwegian browser-vendor&lt;br&gt;Opera Software ASA filed last month, the other a 2006 charge from the&lt;br&gt;European Committee for Interoperable Systems, a group led by&lt;br&gt;International Business Machines Corp. and other Microsoft rivals that&lt;br&gt;has been a driving force in Europe&amp;#39;s antitrust pursuit of the company.&lt;p&gt;In addition to touching on Office, the IBM-led group&amp;#39;s complaint&lt;br&gt;addresses Microsoft&amp;#39;s refusal &amp;quot;to disclose interoperability&lt;br&gt;information across a broad range of products,&amp;quot; according to the EU,&lt;br&gt;indicating that the regulators could make an even broader case.&lt;p&gt;In a statement, Microsoft said it would cooperate with the probes and&lt;br&gt;was &amp;quot;committed to ensuring&amp;quot; that the company is &amp;quot;in full compliance&lt;br&gt;with European law.&amp;quot;&lt;p&gt;In 2004, after a contentious six-year probe, the EU charged Microsoft&lt;br&gt;with illegally shutting out rival Sun Microsystems Inc. by withholding&lt;br&gt;computer code needed to make Sun&amp;#39;s computers work with Windows-based&lt;br&gt;machines, and with abusing its Windows monopoly by bundling&lt;br&gt;media-player software with the operating system. It assessed a record&lt;br&gt;€497 million ($612 million) fine.&lt;p&gt;That case ended in dramatic fashion last September, when an EU court&lt;br&gt;vindicated the EU&amp;#39;s position in stark terms, leaving Microsoft with&lt;br&gt;little to do but capitulate. A month later, the company said it&lt;br&gt;wouldn&amp;#39;t pursue further appeals, ending the case.&lt;p&gt;Besides the fines -- which could total billions of euros -- the&lt;br&gt;practical effect was fairly small. At the time, Mr. Rose says, he didn&amp;#39;t consider Web-based services because he worried that sending information over the Web could open the oil giant up to security troubles.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p class="times"&gt;But then he found a new service from Ketera Technologies Inc., Santa Clara, Calif., one of many Web-software start-ups that have attracted attention over the past 12 months. Using Ketera&amp;#39;s software, Chevron&amp;#39;s suppliers could input and make changes to pricing through the Ketera Web site, and Mr. Rose&amp;#39;s staff could approve them and make tweaks on the Web site.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p class="times"&gt;&amp;quot;We&amp;#39;re an energy company, not a software company,&amp;quot; says Mr. Rose. &amp;quot;If we can free ourselves up to dabble less in software and more in oil we&amp;#39;ll be in good shape.&amp;quot; He adds he&amp;#39;s now spending about a third of what he previously spent, but declined to give exact figures.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p class="times"&gt;Like Chevron, businesses are turning to companies like Ketera that provide what is known as &amp;quot;software as a service.&amp;quot; The sector sprouted up eight years ago, when former &lt;a class="times rolloverQuote" href="http://online.wsj.com/quotes/main.html?type=djn&amp;amp;symbol=orcl" onmouseover="window.status=(&amp;#39;   Quotes &amp;amp; Research for ORCL&amp;#39;);return true" onmouseout="window.status=(&amp;#39;&amp;#39;);return true"&gt; Oracle&lt;/a&gt; Corp. executive Marc Benioff launched &lt;a class="times rolloverQuote" href="http://online.wsj.com/quotes/main.html?type=djn&amp;amp;symbol=crm" onmouseover="window.status=(&amp;#39;   Quotes &amp;amp; Research for CRM&amp;#39;);return true" onmouseout="window.status=(&amp;#39;&amp;#39;);return true"&gt; Salesforce.com&lt;/a&gt; Inc., a start-up that let companies manage sales leads through a Web site. While companies typically had organized their relationships with customers using customized software installed on computers, Mr. Benioff&amp;#39;s idea was to offer a no-frills online service that let companies make only minor tweaks. Such Web-based software required less investment in on-premise software and hardware, got up and running more quickly, and was easier to use.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p class="times"&gt;Early on, that attracted mostly small businesses that weren&amp;#39;t previously using any software at all and could easily justify trying this new approach. But larger companies stayed away, having invested in the late 1990s in traditional software from the likes of Oracle and &lt;a class="times rolloverQuote" href="http://online.wsj.com/quotes/main.html?type=djn&amp;amp;symbol=sap" onmouseover="window.status=(&amp;#39;   Quotes &amp;amp; Research for SAP&amp;#39;);return true" onmouseout="window.status=(&amp;#39;&amp;#39;);return true"&gt; SAP&lt;/a&gt; AG.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p class="times"&gt;Now that&amp;#39;s changing, partly because of an accounting quirk. Companies are starting to get rid of their old software at a time when capital-expenditure budgets are tight. Traditional software and the hardware to run it are considered a capital expenditure. But Web-based services are typically sold as a subscription, which means corporate buyers can account for them as a maintenance expense, which falls into a different bucket.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p class="times"&gt;As a result, companies are turning to start-ups such as Ketera, LucidEra Inc. and Workday Inc. that are offering Web-based services for tasks like controlling spending and managing employees. Research firm Gartner Inc. calculates the world-wide market for software as a service will grow to $19.3 billion by 2011 from $6.3 billion last year.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p class="times"&gt;&amp;quot;We&amp;#39;re seeing the slow, steady evolution of the technology,&amp;quot; says Mr. Benioff of &lt;a href="http://Salesforce.com"&gt;Salesforce.com&lt;/a&gt;, noting that Web-based services have gone beyond the sales and marketing services that &lt;a href="http://Salesforce.com"&gt;Salesforce.com&lt;/a&gt; pioneered.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p class="times"&gt;Some larger, risk-averse companies -- though still nervous about Web-based services -- are now trying them. That was the experience of Rhonda Stickley, director of recruiting and staffing at timber giant &lt;a class="times rolloverQuote" href="http://online.wsj.com/quotes/main.html?type=djn&amp;amp;symbol=wy" onmouseover="window.status=(&amp;#39;   Quotes &amp;amp; Research for WY&amp;#39;);return true" onmouseout="window.status=(&amp;#39;&amp;#39;);return true"&gt; Weyerhaeuser&lt;/a&gt; Co., who began using a Web-based service for tracking hiring from Taleo two years ago. At the time, Weyerhaeuser, Federal Way, Wash., was about to embark on a hiring spree as many of its employees neared retirement. But its technology for tracking hires was outdated and clumsy, involving contractors to scan paper applications into a program from a big software company.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p class="times"&gt;Even so, when Ms. Stickley discovered Taleo&amp;#39;s service, she wondered whether applicants&amp;#39; private information would be secure and if Taleo would be able to handle the surge of Weyerhaeuser applicants. She visited the Dublin, Calif., software company in 2005, toured its research-and-development center, and grilled its chief executive about everything from the company&amp;#39;s emergency plans to its long-term strategy.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p class="times"&gt;Ms. Stickley was satisfied when she heard Taleo was planning to add more Web-based human-resources services that she could later add and had security guarantees that more than satisfied the company&amp;#39;s requirements. Now, she uses Taleo&amp;#39;s service to solicit applications through the Web, which enter her system directly without any scanning required.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p class="times"&gt;Ms. Stickley stopped paying the eight human scanners she used to have and now doesn&amp;#39;t have to worry about maintaining hardware or on-premise software. She says she&amp;#39;s saving 10% to 12% by using the service, mostly from efficiency gains because the service is less of a hassle to manage and easier for job applicants to use than the software she had previously used.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p class="times"&gt;One challenge that remains for users of Web-based services is that companies can&amp;#39;t customize these services the way they could with traditional software. Because the Credit Memo from sales return may remain open credit, or customer may have requested for &amp;quot;refund&amp;quot;. This &amp;quot;refund&amp;quot; is not captured inside the Daily Receipt Summary because when we pay money back to the customers, we issue payment vouchers. The original receipt is not cancelled because customer may have paid using credit card, which the money really went into the bank account, and when you refund back to the customers, you may be issuing cheque. Daily Sales Report With Cash Flow Analysis&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report shows all sales transactions   being done, and the collection associated with the sales (both credit   sales and cashsales). Other collections like deposits and collection for   previous sales are also included in this report. Users will find this   report extremely informative to capture the entire performance of the   business for a period of time. With detailed payment modes summarized   in different columns, one will be able to know exactly the cash flow in   relation to sales.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;2. Gross Profit By Invoice Report&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;Sometimes, certain stocks within an invoice   are sold below costs, but overall invoice is profitable. When managers   look at the Stock Sales Report, which shows the profitability of each   item being sold, it may results in too many false alarm. The Gross Profit   by Invoice report solves this problem because it summarize the overall   gross profit generated from each invoice, as well as sales return. It   also show the sales return beside the invoice this particular invoice   was subsequently reversed.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;h4&gt;3. Stock Sales Report&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;Stock Sales Report provides senior management   a very detailed transaction listing on all products sold and returned.   The exact absolute gross profit and gross profit in percentage are generated   for each of the invoice and sales return details.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;h4&gt;4. Sales Item, CRV, Finance Charges Report&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;The cost of sales for each invoice item is   not limited to the inventory cost (cost of goods sold). There are several   other costs incurred, for example, if Cash Rebate Vouchers were given   to customers based on each item, or if the customers pay using Easy Payment   Scheme (IPP) where finance charges could be amounting to between 5% to   9%, which is pretty significant. While giving out sales commissions to   the salesman, sometimes it makes sense to deduct these direct charges,   and only pay out commissions based on gross profit calculated after deducting   these finance charges etc.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;5. Daily Invoice Summary&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report gives a very high level overview   of all the invoices issued, summarized day by day, and also showing if   any of these invoices are still outstanding. Management could use this   report as a rough gauge of the business trend over a period of time (weeks   or even months). A better report that includes Sales Report, and also   provide a high level overview would be the &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Daily   Sales Report with Inventory Category Grouping&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;      &lt;h4&gt;6. Official Receipt Listing&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;Sometimes, management would like to take   a view at the details of the collections, all collections, from cashsales   to deposit and payment for credit sales are listed here. With separate   columns on cash, cheques, post dated cheques, credit cards etc, managers   will be able to get a firm grasp of the cash flow for the company. User   will be able to drill down to individual Official Receipt, and trace the   invoices accordingly through the user friendly interface.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;7. Daily Receipt Summary&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report is a condense version of Official   Receipt Listing, &amp;nbsp;providing   a high level overview of all cash flowing into the company within a range   of dates.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;8. Periodic Stock Balance and Movement Summary / Periodic Stock Balance   and Movement By Category&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This computationally intensive report shows   the details movement of the stocks, from purchases to purchase return,   sales to sales return, trade-in, stock transfer etc. The gross profit   and cost of goods sold are also displayed here. It is an excellent report   for store managers to have a very complete view of the entire flow of   inventory items in the company, profitability of stocks, and giving out   stock replenishment instructions optimally.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;9. Monitor Outstanding Invoice&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;Monitoring customer credit is extremely important.   This report consolidates outstanding invoices grouped by customer from   various branches on a real time basis. All customer accounts that have   exceeded credit limits or credit terms will be highlighted. Managers could   suspend or black list these accounts to prevent further credit sales to   these accounts to better control the credit risk.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;10. Detailed Sales Record by Customer&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report allow users to generate the detailed   transactions (Sales and Sales Return) for a specific customer. With this   report, users will be able to see exactly how much gross profit has been   generated from each customer from the transaction history. Useful for   Customer Relationship Management.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;11. Gross Profit By Salesman By Invoice&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report is useful for salesman commission   calculations, as well as performance ranking and appraisal for salesmen   within a company.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;12. Stock Sales Report By Item Code&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report display the sales, gross profit   and also balance quantity for each of the item code. User could also group   the reports based on different category levels. Some users find it extremely   useful to analyze this report while doing stock replenishment. Sometimes,   best selling stock may be low margin stock, and high margin stock may   be moving slowly. So, with all these information consolidated in a single   report, decision makers will be able to decide what are the stocks to   be replenished, what brands are best sellers, what type of products bring   in most profit and so on.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;13. Transaction Ageing Analysis&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report is similar to Monitor Outstanding   Invoice Report, where all outstanding documents are displayed. Instead   of showing the exact number of days where a document is outstanding, this   report display them into various columns, based on the configurations   in the accounting module for various ageing periods.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;14. Only a   list of customers, with their respective ageing summary displayed in different   columns according to the accounting module ageing periods configurations.   This is an excellent report for credit control.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;15. Transaction Ageing Summary By Branch&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;To effectively manage a chain store, certain   customers may buy from multiple branches hence performance of the branch   managers in chasing for collections should be monitored accordingly. This   report helps senior management to control the people who control the credit   risk of the company.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;16. Collection With Invoice Ageing Report&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;Certain companies reward their salesmen according   to how fast they manage to collect from their customers. For the same   amount of sales, if the salesman collect faster, they get rewarded faster.   This report shows all the collections within a period of time, and analyze   each of the collection, to compute the corresponding age of the collection   based on the invoice dates. As one receipt (settlement) could be done   for multiple invoices, and there could also be partial settlements for   certain invoices, the report is smart enough to compute the exact ageing   amount based on some complex formulas. This report is extremely useful   to reward and performance appraisal of the salesman.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;17. Sales Report By Invoice With Inventory Category Grouping&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report is extremely useful to get a   quick feel of the sales amount, and its breakdown according to various   category levels.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;18. Daily Sales Report With Inventory Category Grouping&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report is similar to Daily Invoice Summary,   or better. Not only it consolidates the sales and sales return, users   will also be able to see the summary of net sales for each category level   on a daily basis. If one of the categories are used to define departments,   this report could essentially transform into a department performance   report.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;19. Daily Sales Report With Cash Flow Analysis&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report shows all sales transactions   being done, and the collection associated with the sales (both credit   sales and cashsales). Other collections like deposits and collection for   previous sales are also included in this report. Users will find this   report extremely informative to capture the entire performance of the   business for a period of time. With detailed payment modes summarized   in different columns, one will be able to know exactly the cash flow in   relation to sales.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;2. Gross Profit By Invoice Report&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;Sometimes, certain stocks within an invoice   are sold below costs, but overall invoice is profitable. When managers   look at the Stock Sales Report, which shows the profitability of each   item being sold, it may results in too many false alarm. The Gross Profit   by Invoice report solves this problem because it summarize the overall   gross profit generated from each invoice, as well as sales return. It   also show the sales return beside the invoice this particular invoice   was subsequently reversed.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;h4&gt;3. Stock Sales Report&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;Stock Sales Report provides senior management   a very detailed transaction listing on all products sold and returned.   The exact absolute gross profit and gross profit in percentage are generated   for each of the invoice and sales return details.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;h4&gt;4. Sales Item, CRV, Finance Charges Report&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;The cost of sales for each invoice item is   not limited to the inventory cost (cost of goods sold). There are several   other costs incurred, for example, if Cash Rebate Vouchers were given   to customers based on each item, or if the customers pay using Easy Payment   Scheme (IPP) where finance charges could be amounting to between 5% to   9%, which is pretty significant. While giving out sales commissions to   the salesman, sometimes it makes sense to deduct these direct charges,   and only pay out commissions based on gross profit calculated after deducting   these finance charges etc.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;5. Daily Invoice Summary&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report gives a very high level overview   of all the invoices issued, summarized day by day, and also showing if   any of these invoices are still outstanding. Management could use this   report as a rough gauge of the business trend over a period of time (weeks   or even months). A better report that includes Sales Report, and also   provide a high level overview would be the &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Daily   Sales Report with Inventory Category Grouping&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;      &lt;h4&gt;6. Official Receipt Listing&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;Sometimes, management would like to take   a view at the details of the collections, all collections, from cashsales   to deposit and payment for credit sales are listed here. With separate   columns on cash, cheques, post dated cheques, credit cards etc, managers   will be able to get a firm grasp of the cash flow for the company. User   will be able to drill down to individual Official Receipt, and trace the   invoices accordingly through the user friendly interface.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;7. Daily Receipt Summary&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report is a condense version of Official   Receipt Listing, &amp;nbsp;providing   a high level overview of all cash flowing into the company within a range   of dates.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;8. Periodic Stock Balance and Movement Summary / Periodic Stock Balance   and Movement By Category&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This computationally intensive report shows   the details movement of the stocks, from purchases to purchase return,   sales to sales return, trade-in, stock transfer etc. The gross profit   and cost of goods sold are also displayed here. It is an excellent report   for store managers to have a very complete view of the entire flow of   inventory items in the company, profitability of stocks, and giving out   stock replenishment instructions optimally.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;9. Monitor Outstanding Invoice&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;Monitoring customer credit is extremely important.   This report consolidates outstanding invoices grouped by customer from   various branches on a real time basis. All customer accounts that have   exceeded credit limits or credit terms will be highlighted. Managers could   suspend or black list these accounts to prevent further credit sales to   these accounts to better control the credit risk.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;10. Detailed Sales Record by Customer&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report allow users to generate the detailed   transactions (Sales and Sales Return) for a specific customer. With this   report, users will be able to see exactly how much gross profit has been   generated from each customer from the transaction history. Useful for   Customer Relationship Management.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;11. Gross Profit By Salesman By Invoice&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report is useful for salesman commission   calculations, as well as performance ranking and appraisal for salesmen   within a company.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;12. Stock Sales Report By Item Code&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report display the sales, gross profit   and also balance quantity for each of the item code. User could also group   the reports based on different category levels. Some users find it extremely   useful to analyze this report while doing stock replenishment. Sometimes,   best selling stock may be low margin stock, and high margin stock may   be moving slowly. So, with all these information consolidated in a single   report, decision makers will be able to decide what are the stocks to   be replenished, what brands are best sellers, what type of products bring   in most profit and so on.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;h4&gt;13. Transaction Ageing Analysis&lt;/h4&gt;  &lt;p style="margin-left: 40px;"&gt;This report is similar to Monitor Outstanding   Invoice Report, where all outstanding documents are displayed.
